This practical training is for individuals with a focus on either child and adolescent or adult resilience. Delivered as a pre-structured online course, providing an in-depth and practical exploration of resilience, including the practical application of The Resilience Doughnut with others and opportunities to reflect on your own practice.

This training is designed for individuals who work with children and adolescents or adults within any setting.

What's the delivery structure?
This training is delivered in 2 stages. Successful completion of both stages is required.
Stage 1 includes 14 hours of in-depth online training delivered over 4 weeks (child and adolescent focus) or 20 hours delivered over 6 weeks (adult focus). Participants completing the adult focus course have the opportunity to select strands to match their setting. Stage 1 is delivered by Lyn Worsley and a new course starts on the first Monday of every other month. You will need to allocate 3 1/2 hours per week for each week of the course to demonstrate engagement with the group discussions, tasks, reading material and videos, as well as the completion of a reflective journal. Weekly deadlines are in place to keep you on track throughout the course.
Stage 2 includes 1 day of online training and features a range of individual tasks and reflection plus paired and group discussions and activities. Stage 2 is delivered by our team here in the UK.
During Stage 1 you will:
Develop an in-depth understanding of resilience across a range of settings.
Be introduced to strengths-based practice.
Learn about the Australian and international resilience research which is influencing current strengths-based practice.
Learn about The Resilience Doughnut as a practical tool to build resilience.
Learn how to apply The Resilience Doughnut with others through one-to-one and group sessions.
Have the opportunity to interact with The Resilience Doughnut resources and to practice applying the model within your setting.
Learn strategies for enhancing a more optimistic thinking, and nurturing abilities for moral thinking and perspective taking.
During Stage 2 you will:
Have the opportunity to discuss and consolidate learning and experiences from Stage 1.
Have the opportunity to practice applying The Resilience Doughnut with your trainer and other participants.
Be introduced to a solution-focused approach to enhance your application of The Resilience Doughnut.
Be introduced to a solution-focused approach for every-day resilience-building conversations.
Learn advanced strategies for applying The Resilience Doughnut with others through one-to-one and group sessions.

Please note: Organisations are required to have at least one Facilitator.
Please be aware, our Facilitator and Practitioner training are not train-the-trainer courses. This training allows you to use The Resilience Doughnut with others within your own organisation or practice, along with providing an in-depth understanding of resilience, which will inform your practice. However, facilitators, are not permitted to:
Train others, including those within their own organisation or practice, to deliver one-to-one or group sessions using The Resilience Doughnut.
Pass on the resources to anyone else, including those within their own organisation or practice, for the purpose of enabling them to deliver one-to-one or group sessions using The Resilience Doughnut.
