Structure and Requirements

  • A new course starts on the first Monday of every other month.

  • Features 14 hours of in-depth online training delivered over 4 weeks (child and adolescent focus) or 20 hours delivered over 6 weeks (adult focus).

  • Each week you can work through the content at a time and pace to suit you, as long as it is completed by the end of that week.

  • Each week, Lyn Worsley will present a live webinar. The timing is set to enable participants from across the world to participate but, if you're not available, you can watch the recording afterwards.

  • To ensure you achieve the accreditation, you will need to allocate at least 3 1/2 hours per week for each week of the course to demonstrate engagement with the group discussions, tasks, reading material and videos, as well as the completion of a reflective journal.  There are weekly deadlines in place to keep you on track.

​During Stage 1 you will:

​​​

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of resilience across a range of settings.

  • Be introduced to strengths-based practice.

  • Learn about the Australian and international resilience research which is influencing current strengths-based practice.

  • Learn about The Resilience Doughnut as a practical tool to build resilience.

  • Learn how to apply The Resilience Doughnut with others through one-to-one and group sessions.

  • Have the opportunity to interact with The Resilience Doughnut resources and to practice applying the model within your setting.

  • Learn strategies for enhancing a more optimistic thinking, and nurturing abilities for moral thinking and perspective taking.

For 1 or 2 participants from a single organisation.

This training licenses individuals to use The Resilience Doughnut with others within their own organisation or practice, along with providing an in-depth understanding of resilience, which will inform their practice.​

However, this is not a train-the-trainer course and, as a result, Facilitators, are not permitted to:​

  • Train others, including those within their own organisation or practice, to deliver one-to-one or group sessions using The Resilience Doughnut.

  • Pass on the resources to anyone else, including those within their own organisation or practice, for the purpose of enabling them to deliver one-to-one or group sessions using The Resilience Doughnut.

  • Use The Resilience Doughnut in the public domain.

  • Successful completion of both stages is required and you will need to successfully complete Stage 1 in order to proceed to Stage 2.

  • We recommend leaving at least 3 weeks between the end of Stage 1 and Stage 2.

  • Features one day of live online training​ and features a range of individual tasks and reflection plus paired and group discussions and activities, all delivered by our team here in the UK. 

  • Training runs from 09.30 - 16.00 on the chosen date.

  • Have the opportunity to discuss and consolidate learning and experiences from Stage 1.

  • Have the opportunity to practice applying The Resilience Doughnut with your trainer and other participants.

  • Learn advanced strategies for applying The Resilience Doughnut with others through one-to-one and group sessions.

  • Learn essential solution-focused conversation tools to enhance your application of The Resilience Doughnut with individuals and for every-day resilience-building conversations.​​​​

Facilitator Training

Advanced level training for individuals or groups with a focus on child and adolescent or adult resilience across a range of settings.

Transform your resilience-informed practice with our advanced level Facilitator Training, giving you an in-depth understanding of resilience and the practical application of The Resilience Doughnut with individuals, groups and a whole organisation. You will explore a wide range of resilience-building strategies alongside high-impact informal and structured 'coaching style' conversation tools.

Participants can focus on either resilience in children and adolescents or resilience in adults. This training is ideal for any setting and provides excellent opportunities throughout for participants to reflect on their own practice. Upon successful completion, participants gain full access to online resources.

Our accredited facilitator training includes the following:​

  • Accreditation through the Australian Psychology Society.

  • The license to facilitate The Resilience Doughnut within your own organisation.
