This practical training is for individuals or groups with a focus on either child and adolescent or adult resilience.​​​​ Delivered as a pre-structured online course, providing an in-depth and practical exploration of resilience, including the practical application of The Resilience Doughnut with others and opportunities to reflect on your own practice. This training is designed for designed for anyone who works with children and adolescents or adults within any setting.​​​

Our accredited facilitator training includes the following:​

  • 20 hours (child and adolescent resilience) or 26 hours (adult resilience) of in-depth training.

  • Accreditation through the Australian Psychology Society.

  • The license to facilitate The Resilience Doughnut within your own organisation.

  • A large Resilience Doughnut floor model.

  • Lyn Worsley's book 'The Resilience Doughnut'.

  • Access to additional online resources.

  • Access to our UK community of facilitators.

Facilitator Training

This training is delivered in 2 stages. Successful completion of both stages is required.  

Stage 1

  • Features 14 hours of in-depth online training delivered over 4 weeks (child and adolescent focus) or 20 hours delivered over 6 weeks (adult focus), all delivered by Lyn Worsley.

  • A new course starts on the first Monday of every other month.

  • You can book unlimited places for the next two available courses.

  • For group of 10 or more we can run a bespoke Stage 1 course just for you.

  • Participants will need to allocate 3 1/2 hours per week for each week of the course to demonstrate engagement with the group discussions, tasks, reading material and videos, as well as the completion of a reflective journal. Weekly deadlines are in place to keep you on track throughout the course.

Stage 2

  • Features 1 day of online training​ and features a range of individual tasks and reflection plus paired and group discussions and activities, all delivered by our team here in the UK.

  • You book Stage 2 at the same time as Stage 1.

  • For groups of 5 or more we can run a bespoke Stage 2 course just for you.

For 5 to 9 participants from a single organisation.

Scheduled Stage 1, which is delivered with other participants on set dates.

Bespoke Stage 2, delivered just for your team on a date of your choosing.

For 10 or more participants from a single organisation.

Bespoke Stage 1, delivered just for your team on a month of your choosing.

Bespoke Stage 2, delivered just for your team on a date of your choosing.

Stage 1

​During Stage 1 you will:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of resilience across a range of settings.

  • Be introduced to strengths-based practice.

  • Learn about the Australian and international resilience research which is influencing current strengths-based practice.

  • Learn about The Resilience Doughnut as a practical tool to build resilience.

  • Learn how to apply The Resilience Doughnut with others through one-to-one and group sessions.

  • Have the opportunity to interact with The Resilience Doughnut resources and to practice applying the model within your setting.

  • Learn strategies for enhancing a more optimistic thinking, and nurturing abilities for moral thinking and perspective taking.

Stage 2

​​During Stage 2 you will:

  • Have the opportunity to discuss and consolidate learning and experiences from Stage 1.

  • Have the opportunity to practice applying The Resilience Doughnut with your trainer and other participants.

  • Learn advanced strategies for applying The Resilience Doughnut with others through one-to-one and group sessions.

  • Learn essential solution-focused conversation tools to enhance your application of The Resilience Doughnut with individuals and for every-day resilience-building conversations.

Content

Only those who have completed our accredited Facilitator Training have the necessary understanding, skills and resources to facilitate The Resilience Doughnut effectively and confidently with others.

 

This training licenses Facilitators to use The Resilience Doughnut with others within their own organisation or practice, along with providing an in-depth understanding of resilience, which will inform their practice.

 

However, this is not a train-the-trainer course and, as a result, Facilitators, are not permitted to:

  • Train others, including those within their own organisation or practice, to deliver one-to-one or group sessions using The Resilience Doughnut.

  • Pass on the resources to anyone else, including those within their own organisation or practice, for the purpose of enabling them to deliver one-to-one or group sessions using The Resilience Doughnut.

  • Use The Resilience Doughnut in the public domain.
