This practical advanced training is for groups of up to 20 participants with a focus on staff resilience.​​​​ - Delivered as a pre-structured course with flexible delivery and providing an advanced level of practical skills, knowledge and understanding. Based on 'what works' on an individual and whole organisation level, this training will enable you and your team to build the resilience of colleagues so they can connect and thrive within a positive workplace climate. 

 

This training provides an in-depth and practical exploration of adult resilience, including the practical application of The Resilience Doughnut with individuals and groups, all within the context of a workplace setting. There are opportunities to connect what you learn to your practice throughout.

Who is this training for?

  • This training is for smaller groups of up to 20 participants.

  • It is designed for:

    • Current or aspiring middle, senior and executive leaders and managers. 

    • HR managers.

    • Staff wellbeing and mental health leads.

​This training offers flexibility in delivery, to meet the needs of your organisation.

You can run this advanced training as:

  • 8 two-hour face-to-face modules over a year. - Perfect as a series of shorter sessions (recommended).

  • As bespoke mixture of full day, half day and two hour face-to-face sessions over any duration. - Whatever suits your organisation.

Participants are introduced to the process of resilience through The Resilience Doughnut, learn how resilience within individuals is built and recognise the features of a resilient workplace. 

Post-Module Reflection

Reflect on how your understanding of resilience has changed and how this may impact on your practice. 

It is important for leaders to understand and apply The Resilience Doughnut for themselves before applying to with others. In this module, participants explore their own Resilience Doughnut and better understand the features of their resilience.

Reflect on how your understanding of your own resilience has changed and how this may impact on your response to challenges.

Resilience - A Universal Approach

The Strengths Perspective

2 Hours

Working with The Resilience Doughnut can benefit everyone by improving  self-reflection, emotional regulation, meaningful connections and personal competence. In this module, participants explore the practical application of The Resilience Doughnut as a universal tool for all staff, including its use with individuals and  across a team, department or whole workplace. Participants are introduced to the art of solution focused coaching conversations, which are used within the application of The Resilience Doughnut. 

Post-Module Application

Plan and use The Resilience Doughnut with a small group. Option to apply the Resilience Report.

A strengths perspective, on an individual and team level, results in higher levels of engagement, enjoyment and satisfaction and, as a result, builds the capacity for resilience. In this module, participants: explore their own personal strengths; examine a range of practical strategies to use with colleagues to enable them explore their own personal strengths; and examine a range of practical strategies to explore strengths within team teams.

Post-Module Application

Script, practice and action a strengths conversation with a colleague relating to challenges within their current role or an ongoing project.

Working with The Resilience Doughnut can be incredibly helpful way to build the capacity for resilience in those experiencing challenge and adversity, inside and outside the workplace. In this module participants explore the application of the Resilience Doughnut through a range of scenarios. Participants develop their use of solution focused coaching conversations, which are used within the application of The Resilience Doughnut. 

Post-Module Application

Script, practice and action a conversation you intend to have with a colleague who is going through workplace challenge.

Working with The Resilience Doughnut can be incredibly helpful way to build the capacity for resilience in those experiencing a period of transition or change, inside and outside the workplace. In this module participants explore the application of the Resilience Doughnut through a range of scenarios. Participants further develop their use of solution focused coaching conversations, which are used within the application of The Resilience Doughnut. 

Post-Module Application

Script, practice and action a conversation you intend to have with a colleague who is going through personal or workplace transition.

Resilient Thinking

The Thriving Workplace

2 Hours

Participants take a closer looks at core thinking skills associated with resilience. They explore how each thinking skill relates to The Resilience Doughnut before practicing simple strategies to promote more resilient thinking habits; through their everyday interactions with colleagues.

Post-Module Application

Practice spotting resilient thinking when in conversation with colleagues and practice helping others shift towards more resilient thinking through your conversation tools.

Thriving workplaces are connected workplaces in which four features are present: honesty, openness, trust and empathy. This module brings together the previous modules on resilience and strengths, along with the art of solution focused coaching conversations to explore these four features and strategies which promote them within a thriving workplace.

Reflect on how your understanding of workplace connectedness has changed and how this may impact on your practice.

Reflect, Evaluate and Plan

1 Hour

During this 30 minute online session you will discuss progress following the previous modules.​ This online session is delivered twice during the training. 

This online session gives you the opportunity to reflect on the training, your progress and its application into your practice and consider your best hopes for the next stage of your work with staff resilience. There is also the option to use the Resilience Report to measure and evaluate impact of targeted application of The Resilience Doughnut.
